Hey, it’s Richard here with Platinum Ponds & Lake Management. Today we are at the Woods Lake Apartment Complex. They have called us because their fountain has stopped running and believe it or not they have a bigger problem that has been ongoing on for quite some time, and obviously, a major algae bloom here in the month of May 2015.

The algae is exploding here with the heat. Water temps are now hitting the 70-degree mark, and we have been getting a lot of calls for algae control, algae management, and algae treatments for retention ponds. This is a retention pond you see here, we have numerous amounts of sediment, debris, runoff, contaminants, and fertilizers all running into this pond here.

We need to get it under control and put it on a monthly management plan so we can stay ahead of it. It is very difficult to get ahead and once we do we can control it on a monthly basis.
