Hey, it’s Richard here with Platinum Ponds & Lake Management. We wanted to show you an algae clip that we took at the Alta Grove Apartments in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Algae management is probably the number one problem with retention ponds. We would like to show you the solutions that we have found to control the algae in your pond or lake. The best way to take care of the algae in your retention pond is to starve it to death.
We have been treating this pond proactively throughout the entire year on a monthly basis with bacteria, enzymes, and locking up phosphorus levels in the pond, which are those areas that have high nutrients.
With a surfactant build, copper sulfate will burn through this build up. This is a reactive approach and will give us great results within 12 hours. We will need to come back on a regular basis to keep this under control until we have fully blocked out these nutrients.
Taking care of your lake or pond is not a luxury, it’s a necessity. As your local pond management professionals, we’ve been there. Let us help guide you as a member to protect, plan, and preserve your pond or lake if you live in the Charlotte NC, Asheville NC, and Greenville SC areas.
